SAAC to Award Grants to Individuals and Organizations in 2016 – 17

The Springfield Area Arts Council announces the opening of its fiscal year 2017 Community Arts Access, City Arts, and Rosie Richmond Artist Advancement Award  on July 1.  Interested individuals or the representative of an eligible non-profit organization must attend one mandatory grant writing workshop which will be held July 6 at 5:30 p.m., July 14 at 10:00 a.m., and July 16 at 9:00 a.m. All workshops will be held at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth Street, Springfield. Reservations to attend a workshop should be made by calling the Arts Council office at 753-3519, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m..  Completed applications are due on August 1, 2016, and they may be hand-delivered to our office before 5:00 p.m. on the closing date, or the application must be postmarked on August 1 to be considered eligible for funding.

Funds for the Community Arts Access program are received from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, and funds for the City Arts program are received from the City of Springfield. The Springfield Area Arts Council enhances the quality of life in its geographic focus area and enriches the community as a result through its programs and activities scheduled throughout the year. Its grant programs provide critically-needed funds to assist individuals and organizations in fulfilling their missions and to support the professional development of artists in the area.
