6:00 PM: LOUD CLOUDS is a Central Illinois reggae band.

7:00 PM: GIZZAE is truly a band of the world.  With musicians hailing from the four corners of the earth, Gizzae has been playing for crowds across the country for over 35 years!  Their musical experiences have collectively earned them Grammy® awards and Chicago Music Awards, and they have opened for some of the biggest names in reggae.  Gizzae creates a unique blend of roots reggae.

 

Presented as part of the second season of Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series presented by PNC, a ten-week series of free, live music on the Y Block.

The Arts Council provides opportunities for everyone at a wide variety of events and programs. There is truly something for everyone, and nearly all of our events provide revenue to fund our other programs and services including grants to organizations and placing artists in schools.

Our annual New Year’s Eve celebration of the arts might be virtual this year, keeping artists and audiences safe.

On My Own Time

On My Own Time, a visual arts exhibit and competition, is open to employees of local businesses, educational and medical institutions, and governmental agencies. The intent of On My Own Time is to encourage and display artwork of talented employees whose work is created “on my own time,” not at the workplace. This biennial program will be held again in 2021.

Mayor’s Awards for the Arts

These awards, given to recognize artists, arts educators, businesses, volunteers, and arts organizations in Sangamon and Menard counties, will be given in 2022.
