For over twenty years, the Springfield Area Arts Council has partnered with Archer Bailey and Robbie’s Restaurant  at 4 Old State Capitol Plaza South to present a weekly jazz and blues performance series.  Held Friday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., attendees enjoy fine food, beverages, and great music.  There is no cover charge.  A 50/50 raffle is held with proceeds benefiting the programs of the Arts Council.

Jazz and blues musicians who wish to perform at this venue should contact the office via e-mail at director@springfieldartsco.org.  Trio, quartet, and quintet acts are invited, and payment is on the following scale: trios receive $200, quartets receive $250, and quintets receive $300.  Contracts are issued by the Arts Council with the approval of the owner of Robbie’s Restaurant.  Due to the popularity of this venue among musicians and a desire to show a variety of talent, we’ve been asked to decline multiple performance requests by the same group.

2020 Update: Robbie’s Restaurant, will be sold as its owner, Archer Bailey begins a well-deserved retirement. The Arts Council misses welcoming regulars and newcomers to the Uptown Friday Night concert series at Robbie’s Restaurant, and we miss bringing good jazz and blues to the community.  But to keep musicians and audiences safe, we’re suspending the program for the remainder of 2020.
