With funding from the City of Springfield, the City Arts grant aims to assist practicing Springfield artists by developing their craft while adding to the cultural vitality of the city of Springfield. This initiative provides assistance to artists across all artistic disciplines, including Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Literary Arts.

This program supports special projects, programs, events, and opportunities occurring between May 10 and November 10, 2026. We welcome applications from a variety of eligible artists. Projects must serve or benefit the Springfield community. They must be open and accessible to the public and should be family friendly.

Grants are awarded to three individual artists.

GRANT WORKSHOPS

All submitted documents are kept confidential.

FINAL REPORT

For all FY26 Grantees, submit your Final Report within 14 days of the ending date of the project. All reports must show completely and accurately how the project / program occurred. The report must be signed by the project/program director. Incomplete or unsigned reports will be returned.

Submit at least one (1) but no more than three (3) crediting materials along with each report.

 

Download the report templates and complete each one in its entirety. 

Submit each document along with required crediting materials and optional photos by email or by mailing / dropping off to the Springfield Area Arts Council office at 420 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62701.

Fae Propaganda – A Renaissance faire and art festival helmed by local artists: Devin Larson, Cee Jones, Bri Skeels, Azia Donovan, and Seth Hedgepath.

 

Jaliyah Ross – Literary Arts

Snaps and Jazz – A poetry night featuring poetry, live music, and artists.
