Your Membership Makes the Arts Possible

When you become a member of the Springfield Area Arts Council, you’re not just supporting the arts—you’re shaping the cultural life of our community. Every dollar of your membership goes directly toward programs that connect artists and audiences, spark creativity in classrooms, and make the arts accessible to everyone.

Because of members like you, we can:

• Support over 500 local artists each year through performances, exhibitions, and professional opportunities.

• Deliver arts experiences to more than 5,000 elementary students across Sangamon and Menard counties through the Penny Wollan-Kriel Arts in Education program.

• Bring unforgettable events to our region—from First Night Springfield, Illinois’ longest-running New Year’s Eve celebration, to Artist in the Park, our summer lunchtime concert series.

• Provide grants to local arts organizations, helping them create new programs and sustain their operations.

• Celebrate creativity through The Mayor’s Arts Awards, honoring the artists, educators, and advocates who shape Springfield’s cultural landscape.

• Inspire the next generation with programs like Poetry Out Loud, where high school students compete at regional and state levels.

No matter which level you choose—Ally, Advocate, Aristocrat, Ambassador, or Artist’s Circle—your membership has a direct and lasting impact. You can even become a monthly sustaining member to ensure the arts thrive all year long.

Join us. Together, we can keep the arts vibrant, inclusive, and essential for everyone in our community.
