ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Every summer, the Springfield Area Arts Council presents Artist in the Park, a free, outdoor performance series in downtown Springfield. For 10 weeks, enjoy live music, dance, poetry, and more alongside local food trucks serving lunch for Food Truck Fridays. This family-friendly, accessible, and sensory-friendly event is presented in partnership with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and Downtown Springfield Inc

LotusFire BellyDance specializes in FatChanceBellyDance Style (FCBD), also known as American Tribal Style® (ATS®), which is a modern style of dance.

7.17 | Max Beckman Duo // Jazz

Maxwell Beckman is an Electric and Double bassist, composer, and educator based in Central Illinois. You may have seen him performing with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Butter, or Craig Russo Latin Jazz Project.

7.24 | JLP Art // Live interactive mural painting

Jess is a self-taught artist based out of Athens, IL. She will host a live art session that will be a collaborative project with up to 40 attendees.
