The Arts Council provides opportunities for everyone at a wide variety of events and programs. There is truly something for everyone, and nearly all of our events provide revenue to fund our other programs and services including grants to organizations and placing artists in schools.

Friday Night Jazz

Relaunching after Uptown Friday Night, a year-round series of jazz concerts held at Robbie’s Restaurant for decades, went on hiatus in March 2020,  the Arts Council is happy to announce that Boone’s will host the best local jazz ensembles each Friday evening.

First Night™ Springfield December 31, 2023

Our annual New Year’s Eve celebration of the arts will be live this year with events at Hoogland Center for the Arts and First Presbyterian Church.

On My Own Time

On My Own Time, a biennial visual arts exhibit and competition, is open to employees of local businesses, educational and medical institutions, and governmental agencies. The intent of On My Own Time is to encourage and display artwork of talented employees whose work is created “on my own time,” not at the workplace.

Mayor’s Awards for the Arts

These awards, given to recognize artists, arts educators, businesses, volunteers, and arts organizations in Sangamon and Menard counties, will be given in 2022.
